Gate Register and Teacher Attendance: Closing the Gap Parents Notice

SomaPro Team · October 10, 2026 · 1 min read

When the gate book, class register, and parent SMS disagree, trust drops. Align the three records.

Parents hear three stories about a school day:

- What the gate saw
- What the class teacher marked
- What the SMS said

If those disagree, the school looks disorganised even when staff are working hard.

A cleaner operating model:

1. Mark class attendance once, digitally, during the first lesson.
2. Send absence SMS from that mark—not from a separate WhatsApp list.
3. Use the gate register for visitors and late arrivals, and link patterns back to attendance where needed.
4. Review weekly: which classes mark late, which absences never reached parents.

You do not need biometrics on day one. You need one source of truth for “was the learner in class?” and a habit of notifying guardians the same morning.

Schools that close that gap usually see fewer gate arguments and fewer “nobody told me” calls to the head teacher.
