A practical checklist for owners and head teachers comparing school management platforms in Kenya.
Before you sign for any school system, ask these questions in the demo:
1. Can teachers mark attendance on a phone in under two minutes?
2. Do parents see fees and grades without calling the office?
3. Do M-Pesa and bank options send money to our school accounts?
4. Are report cards structured the Kenyan way (opener, mid-term, end term)?
5. Can we start with a trial using our real student list?
6. Who trains the bursar and teachers, and how long does setup take?
7. What happens to our data if we leave later?
Also compare pricing language carefully. Some platforms charge per learner per term. Others charge a flat monthly or termly fee. Convert both to a yearly number for your enrolment size before you decide.
Finally, insist on a live walkthrough with your bursar present. Feature lists look similar. Day-to-day workflows do not.
